The Essential Foundation

Sooner or later all of us come to recognize that prayer is essential if we are going to have a relationship with God and develop spiritually as leaders. As a leader it can prove to be very challenging to actually pray, to pray in groups and teams, and to make prayer an integral part and necessity of the team format.

The focus of this workshop is to build a stronger foundation of prayer throughout the entire body- growing from a church that prays to a church of prayer. This takes time. No matter what your role within the church, the building of a prayer foundation starts with you.

The workshop time is divided between identifying common challenges and solutions within your church balanced with time spent in prayer. We explore answers to the following questions: What form does prayer take within your worship and in staff/board/teams/small groups? What challenges do you face in your personal prayer life? What are some of the prayer challenges you face as you lead others? How do you create a safe place for prayer encouraging other team members to be vulnerable? What are some ways to move your church forward in the area of prayer?

Jill MacKenzie, co-founder of The Church Consultants, leads this workshop, not by claiming to be an expert, but rather because she has faced many of these challenges as she has worked on church staffs and as a consultant. She has experienced first hand the challenges one can face when leading a staff to go beyond surface prayers- to be open and vulnerable with peers- going deeper to discover the power that is released from practicing that prayer discipline.

In describing herself on the subject of prayer, Jill says "Well, I am right up there leading the pack when it comes to being challenged in the prayer arena. I have this unpleasant persistent voice that becomes louder as time passes by that asks - 'Who do you think you are to be talking about prayer'? The thing I have come to understand is that in my own strength - I am nothing. But with God - all things are possible."

Our fees are flexible and are based on several factors including:
- Format and length of time desired for the materials to be presented.
- Number of presenters required for presentation.
- Distance to be traveled.
- Materials needed for presentation
