Systems are the critical component for the equipping process to function effectively. At the same time as a church begins to embrace equipping values and as a new vision for an Ephesians 4 ministry is articulated and a new culture is birthed, it is essential to develop an infrastructure to support these changing dynamics. Building these supportive systems takes time and effort. Because of this, preparation of this component must run concurrently with the other stages. Then as an increasing awareness of the potentials for spiritual maturity grow and the congregation develops an increased value for living out their biblical mandate for ministry, and as more people begin to be drawn into the church, the supportive structure will be ready to move into place. Some of the elements that comprise a support system are: During the preparation for this component, time will be spent working with the staff and ministry leaders to determine what existing functions can be folded in with these new systems, which will need to be strengthened and what components will have to be created . On-site time will be used to present and define the processes, to train the staff, ministry leaders and the congregation in building an intentional but invisible system that works for the individual congregation, and in facilitating the changes that are necessary. | |||||||||
